This weeks photo - 29+1!

I notice no difference in bump size this week - and my bump has also been much less itchy as well so there probably was no real big growth. But here is this weeks photo!:

What happened this week:
Blood volume has doubled by now; iron requirements are high. Baby's eyelids open and eyelashes are present. 27 weeks' gestation 29 weeks from your LMP. Foetus length: about 26cm crown to rump (35cm or 13¾ inches head to toe). Baby's lungs are developed enough to breathe air fairly efficiently but they would tire rapidly.
Aww...my baby has eyelashes!

New feelings

That would be a foot stuck in my ribs! It just occured to me that I never had that with my son - and that was probably due to the fact that he was always breech! It doesn't hurt, but it is ...well...it does make me go 'oh!' everytime this baby does kick me or get their foot stuck in my ribs! lol ...But it is different and I kinda like it - because I just love being pregnant!
Grow baby grow! I can't wait to meet you!

Another fabby MW appointment!

And believe it or not - there really is only one baby in there! hehe Currently, baby is head down - so in a nice position. (though I would not be terribly worried at this point if they were not). I am also measuring spot on! Though I look huge - all seems to be going great!

Dandelion Root

Now that I am into the third trimester I have started on dandelion root. I am taking the capsules rather than the tea simply because it is easier to remember to take everyday! (and actually works out cheaper! hehe) ...plus when H&B has a 'buy one get one half off' sale, one can not help themselves but to stock up!
I had terrible water retention with my sons pregnancy and whilst I have had no visable water retention as of yet, I would rather be prepared. There are many wonderful benefit of dandelion root that you can see here - espeically in pregnancy. Preventing/helping with water retention is just one of them!

This weeks photo - 28+1!

Into the third trimester now and here is this weeks photo!...and yep, I can see that it is slightly bigger than last weeks! (apparently though, my photos are not doing my bump any justice! ;) hehe)

What happened this week:
26 weeks' gestation 28 weeks from your LMP. Foetus length: 25cm crown to rump (33cm or almost 13 inches head to toe). Weight: about 1000g.
Just growth from the looks of it - though apparently, if this baby were born now, it would have a 90% chance of survival and that is pretty amazing!

Into the third!

I am 28 weeks today and officially into the third trimester! Yay!
I also did my 'trimseter' weigh in today and stand currently at 12 stone 6lbs. So that puts me at just over 2 stone weight gain so far (which is about right actually and still puts me at just under 3 stone weight gain total by the end of this pregnancy). That makes me sound fat and I feel kinda sad when I think of it that way...but when I look at the reality of it, I don't feel so bad. For example, I am still in size 10-12 maternity clothing (thats an American 4-6 ..so say the lables!). Size 12 being a bit loose on me. I have not really gained any weight in my arms or my face - though I have in my thighs and probably therefore my bum as well. So ...those facts do not make me feel too fat or sad!
This bump is pretty big though and sticking out much more so than my son did (instead of 'all around' growth) - so in that area of clothing, my clothes are getting a bit on the 'small' side - but I have discovered the wonderful bump band! Fabulous! Because I like to keep bump warm and snug and not exposed. They will help my tops last me longer as they fit me fine everywhere else! ...of course, I am still buying myself clothes on ebay - shame on me! hehe

Better be a pretty heavy placenta in there! lol

Solid baby!

I can officially feel limbs. No longer just baby kicks and rolls...I can feel baby parts too! So cool! I can start mapping my belly out! hehe
This one still rolls a lot though, so they are in no 'final' position yet!

Tuesday 19 January 2010

New Stretchmarks!

It's official...I have new stretchmarks! hehe
And just as predicted, as this bump is growing out more to the front (rather than 'all around' like my bump was with my sons pregnancy) - the stretchies are right out front and centre. Some new small ones right above my tummy buttom.
Womans bodies sure are maps! - They tell such wonderful stories!

This weeks photo - 27+1!

Nearly into the third trimester (I am gonna go with 28 weeks being the end of the second rather than 26 weeks as I think that makes a bit more sense...though I could settle for the medium ground at 27 weeks...eh?!...whatever! lol) and here is this weeks photo!

Not much difference! I look tired, but I am not - honestly! lol Having to buy some new maternity tops as my bump is getting bigger but I am still proud and impressed with myself that the rest of me isn't really getting all that bigger - and thats a good thing when considering a healthy weight gain! :)

What happened this week:
Lungs begin to manufacture surfactant to stop lung tissue from sticking to itself. Uterus should measure 26-28cm at this time. Baby's brain continues rapid growth. 25 weeks' gestation 27 weeks from your LMP. Foetus length: 24cm crown to rump (32.5cm or almost 12½ inches head to toe).

Wednesday 13 January 2010

152!

Thats beats per minute! (this baby's heartrate obviously hehe!)...Thats what I calculated over and over again anyhow. I had to concentrate hard though...you really have to pay attention as it beats so fast! (and its not like its very loud and solid with a pinard! hehe) Still, not as fast as my sons though who was nearer to 170 bpm on average. Perhaps its a girl then! hehe

Perfect chocolate bar!

I found it I found it!

Its dark chocolate. 72% Cocoa! (dark is my most fav) ...and so therefore free of milk. It is also sugar free too! AND most importantly - 'fake' sugar free! It is naturally sweetened with Xylitol (some lovely stuff!). And to add a nut-free nutty flavour and crunch...riddle throughout with shelled hemp seeds! (so high in protein and omegas!) ...A chocolate bar suitable for pretty much everyone! The only downside is that it is £2 a bar! hehe (but I feel thats worth it anyhow!)

'Plamil' - apparently....and they do a variety of other chocolates as well! I am in love!!! hehe

Alien bump shapes!

Well...my bump is officially no longer just 'round'. Depending on how baby is positioned in there and depending on how they fancy moving about...it can be all sorts of odd shapes! It is pretty funny to look at! My tummy button is nearly perfectly flat as well! Don't think I'll have a tummy button that pops out - it just went flat with my pregnancy with DS as well. Guess I just don't have that type of tummy button! Oh well - that could have been fun to play with! hehe

Sunday 10 January 2010

This weeks photo - 26+1!

And I can not believe that I almost forgot about it this week either! The holidays and all this snow seem to have me unorganised! Oh well ...here it is!

And OMG I am huge! lol

What happened this week:

(Growth...deffinately...but lets see what else hehe)

Baby's bowel contains meconium, a dark green, tar-like substance excreted during the first few days after birth. 24 weeks' gestation 26 weeks from your LMP. Foetus length: 23cm crown to rump (31cm or 12 inches head to toe). Weight: about 800g or 1 lb 12 oz.

Saturday 9 January 2010

I just realised...

That my 'days to go' is now in the double digits only! (98 days to go to be exact)...of course babies come when they are ready so that could be less or more, give or take a few weeks here and there! lol
But it's something! I have come so far and I feel so great! :D

Monday 4 January 2010

This weeks photo - 25+1!

Actually got a photo this week! Looking much more round in this photo but I think baby has shifted downwards again instead all up in my ribcage! Breathing isn't as laboured this week! hehe
So here is this weeks photo!

What happened this week:

Baby's skin is wrinkled, translucent and pink. If you could take a look at your baby, you'd see her bones, organs and vessels. 23 weeks' gestation 25 weeks from your LMP. Foetus length: 22cm crown to rump (30cm or 11¾ inches head to toe). Weight: about 700g. Blink-startle responses have been reported when your baby hears a loud noise.

Cool!
